Vis town

Vis town is situated on the northeastern part of the island of Vis at the bottom of a deep and protected cove. It developed from the former settlements Kut and Luka, which with the construction of the church of Our Lady of Spilica from the 16th century merged into one entity. The city is surrounded by villages of the eastern part of the island: Žena Glava, Milna, Bargujac, Podstražje, Podselje, Plisko Polje and Marine Zemje. Numerous visitors, among which many are sailors, come to Vis more and more each year. Lifestyle changes are visible at every step, but at the same time Vis has kept the old, irresistible Mediterranean charm and life without stress and trouble.
